If by "outside face" you mean one of the corner guards legs, then yes that's no problem we can apply tape to only one side.
Can you put double side tape just on one outside face? Using to fill gaps to prevent rodents entering yard. 2" x 2" x 96" x 16 Gauge Stainless Steel Corner Guard, #4 Finish
