what is a number four coating actually made off of? i want to use it to fabricate glass casting molds at 2000f
2" x 2" x 48" x 16 Gauge Stainless Steel Corner Guard, #4 Finish
i want to flatten the edge of the angle iron and weld it to a flat sheet so instead of an l making a ninety it cuts a one eighty into 3 sixty degree wedges. welding sheet to the sides makes a hollow triangular prism shape. using temperature resistant fiber paper, you can stack strips of glass and make a triangular prism shaped billet of glass you cut slices off of like a loaf of sandwich bread. these mosaic tiles are then used as components in a finished item. you can look up fused glass pattern bars to get an idea of what im talking about. stainless steel has the right minimization of spalling to be useful as forming mold material for pattern bars basically, but any galvanizing or coating is usually not a good idea at those high temps, so could you possibly tell me what its coated with? if not thats fine i get it.

Hello, #4 finish isn't a coating. It's solid stainless steel, the alloys are melted into the steel itself and a #4 finish is a type of style which is shown by a kind of "brush strokes" in the material. I attached an example picture of what it looks like so it's more clear.
